COSTUME DESIGN & CONSTRUCTION
CONTRIBUTIONS TO MAGAZINES & BOOKS
I'm a maker living in Portland, Oregon with my family and many pets, filling up my days with a variety of projects.
I earned my BA in Interior Architecture in 1996 from University of Oregon, and was a commercial interior designer in Seattle from 1996-2001. I graduated with minors in Fine Art, Art History, Costume Design, and Architecture.
Currently, I am a costume designer and fabricator for several dance and theater companies; Dance West, ACMA Theater Company, Vancouver Dance Theater, The Portland Ballet, Elevate, and Portland Festival Ballet. I have also written sewing books, taught online classes, had fine art shows selling in galleries and online, and for 12 years had a craft blog, Angry Chicken, which provided me with countless friendships and creative opportunities.
I have a deep love for many things such as folk art, dark chocolate, reading, uncomfortable performance art, sketch comedy, music, cooking, textiles, marsupials, and nail art.
I'm not very active on my blog anymore but am up to no good on Instagram.
